Top 5: Birthday Wishlist

This Top 5 is actually bigger than five, I have eight items that I am currently lusting over. As I am turning nineteen towards the end of the month (the twenty-first for those wondering), I'm starting to collate my birthday list to give people an idea of what they can buy me.

#1: Black Orchid 100ml Eau de Parfum by Tom Ford

This is my favourite fragrance in the entire world; Selfridges decribe it as "... a sensuous, dark and dramatic fragrance which captures the attention and holds it as the notes deepen and balance." and, to be fair, they couldn't have got it more perfect. The notes include Blackcurrant, Ylang, Sandalwood and Vanilla; all of which harmonise perfectly and last for hours, days even, on the garments you spritz it with. Even though this is a womans scent, the masculinity makes it genderless to me and it is a true luxury.

#2: Olive Biker Jacket with Brown Fur Collar by Zara

An AW'13 trend for both Men and Women is punk, and it seems like both high street and high end designers are creating biker jackets in leather and fabric varieties. This biker jacket from Zara, a new high street favourite of mine, is constructed from Polyester, Viscose and Elastane with a detachable Faux Fur collar meaning that is very durable and its thickness means that it would keep me warm during the British winter chill. This would look great with skinny-yet-straight black trousers, a crisp white shirt and smart black shoes for work.

#3: Armry and Pink Air Vortex Trainers by Nike

Having ridiculously small feet allows me to sometimes squeeze into women's trainers. I'm a massive fan of New Balance 420/610 trainers (or sneakers, as they are an American brand) as they have more flattering silhouette and don't accentuate how tiny my feet are like Nike Air Max do. However, these Air Vortex are in a similar shape and look great on, paired with faded black skinny jeans and an oversized long sleeved shirt. This colourway, featuring a salmon tick and salmon flecked sole, is a particularly interesting combination and would be perfect with a vintage Ralph Lauren shirt I have just ordered, again with black skinny jeans, or cut off denim/chino shorts and Erika Ray-Bans.

#4: Shade and Illuminate in Intensity One by Tom Ford

Being a male that wears makeup, I strive to make it look as natural as possible, ensuring that I look like I have a healthy and natural complexion that is enhanced rather than masked. I only really use concealer and bronzer, sometimes highlighter and, when necessary, tinted moisturiser to make sure that my bare skin isn't hidden under layers of heavily pigmented makeup. This bronze and highlight duo by Tom Ford is the perfect solution to this as it is formulated to be barely noticeable by sight, with it's cream texture meaning it can be sheared out to transparency. I'm sure this product will soon become a staple for me.

#5: Erika Sunglasses by Ray-Ban

I'm a massive fan of Ray-Ban Clubmasters and Wayfarers (who isn't?!), however I think they are too overworn. Enter the Erika sunglasses, these super-flattering frames are perfect for all year round. The website linked has designer sunglasses at discounted prices and they seem to be genuine so it's a bargain compared to their recommended retail price!! I might try and pick some of these up soon, as I sat on my sunglasses on holiday and somewhat cracked one of the lenses... how graceful.

#6: Camouflage Print Leather and Suede Sneakers by Valentino

I've long been a fan of Valentino sneakers ever since their debut a few seasons back, and these are no exception. However, looking at the price, these are definitely astronomically out of my price range, probably forever, so I found a pair on Zara for a fraction of the price, although I'm not sure I want knockoffs as they're a bit too obvious and don't have the same build quality.

#7: Burnham Black Leather Brogues by KG Kurt Geiger
These gorgeous brogues by KG Kurt Geiger have the one thing I desire in formal shoes; a wedge sole. This makes the shoe altogether less formal; and gives it a sport luxe kind of feel which is one of my favourite trends. This particular shoe has a gold bar on the front and a reptilian-like printed leather in parts which makes it look more stylish.

#8: Gold Holographic Techno Slim Zippy Wallet by Marc By Marc Jacobs

I am a massive fan of the current holographic trend circulating around the street-wear blogs on everything from shirts to clutches. This wallet is ideal if you want to emulate that trend in a small and less overpowering way as it gives a hint of glamour every time you pull it out. Harrods have this wallet in Gold, Silver and Blue, and to be honest I would take any of the variants if they were offered. Even the rose, purple and yellow versions which aren't shown, but the google images search linked has them.
